Rolls-Royce Ltd Is Founded

Frederick Henry Royce built his first car, a "Royce," in 1904. That same year, he was introduced to Charles Stewart Rolls, the owner of one of Britain's first car dealerships, and the two soon decided to embark on a joint business venture. They agreed that Royce's cars would be sold exclusively by Rolls, and by 1907, the men were winning awards for the engineering reliability of their cars. The Hindu god Shiva is the subject of an elaborate and sometimes contradictory mythology. Zarah Leander

Leander was a Swedish actress and singer. As a contracted performer with Germany's principal film studio, Leander made a number of successful films that contributed to the Third Reich's propaganda. She did not, however, take part in official Nazi party functions. After the Battle of Stalingrad, Nazi criticism and pro-Americanism dominated Sweden, and Leander, whom people associated with Nazism, was shunned.
