John Lennon Leaves the Beatles

Lennon told his bandmates that he was leaving the Beatles shortly after they finished recording their final album, Abbey Road, but his departure was only made public in April 1970, more than 6 months after the secret break-up. The group's final live performance took place on the rooftop of London's Apple building on January 30, 1969, while the Beatles were in the midst of recording the Let It Be album. Why were band members disappointed that they were not arrested during the show?

Sky Burial

Sky burial is the ritual dissection of human corpses once commonly practiced in Tibet. After death, bodies are cut into small pieces and placed on a mountaintop, exposing them to the elements and animals—especially birds. The practice is known in Tibetan as "jhator," which literally means "giving alms to the birds." Because much of the ground in Tibet is hard and rocky, and fuel and timber are scarce, sky burial is seen as more practical than cremation or burial. Is sky burial allowed today?
