Daniel Pearl Is Kidnapped

Daniel Pearl was the Wall Street Journal's South Asia bureau chief who was kidnapped and murdered while on assignment in Karachi, Pakistan. Pearl was kidnapped by a nationalist Pakistani group that accused him of being an Israeli spy. The kidnappers e-mailed a lengthy list of demands to US officials, and six days later, Pearl was killed.
